The Israeli newspaper Maariv pointed out that for the first time in Israel, German pilots will participate in a training course to prepare them to operate unmanned aircraft (Heron) produced by Israeli airspace industries. These drones will be used to gather intelligence, and are to be sent to the German forces in Afghanistan. The newspaper indicated that the plane is one of the most widely used aircrafts in the service of foreign troops in Afghanistan. These aircrafts are employed in several units, including the Canadian, French and Australian, to monitor the movements of members of Taliban in Afghanistan.

This military cooperation constitutes an uprising continuation to the partnership pattern between the two sides. Israeli Ha'aretz unveiled yesterday a joint Israel - Germany cooperation project, that was shrouded in secrecy not to raise against it the Muslim world, whereby German soldiers serving in Afghanistan are subject to  intensive training on Israeli  military machines including unmanned aerial vehicles.
The newspaper said that the available information marks an actual presence of Germans officers in these trainings which are supervised by the Israeli Air Force and the Israeli airline "El Al", but the training venue was not specified whether inside Israeli or Afghani territories though the newspaper has suggested its being in the Mediterranean Sea.
A few days ago during a visit to an Israeli ministerial delegation to Berlin, Israel made a request to buy six submarines from Dolphin-class diesel-powered from Germany. Israel now has three of these submarines, and it was confirmed that it requested to purchase two more. The range of the submarine reaches 4500 km, and it's capable of launching cruise missiles that can carry nuclear warheads. It is worth noting that Germany is the third largest trading partner of Israel, after the United States and China.

What is strange in this cooperation is that it comes at a time when Europe has issued arrest warrants against Israeli politicians and officers charged of war crimes against humanity, and as everyone in the world is calling Israel to return to negotiations and to stop building the settlements.  Moreover, as the world is trying to pressure Israel towards peace, German characteristic relations comes to  provide an outlet for Israel to strike these attempts and balk the peace efforts.
