Since the end of the civil war in the early nineties, Lebanon has not so far realized the desired economic prosperity. Although Lebanon’s economic conditions have substantially improved, it could not restore its role as a regional magnet for trade and investment.

Recent attempts to enhance US-Lebanese relations have not been very successful. In spite of the tremendous efforts made, including a dozen of high level official visits, the desired ends have not been realized.
